My Bookshelf Is Now Zen
This past semester at school was crazy. I barely had time to organize my room. I still haven’t organized all of my room. But if the worst part was my bookshelf, as you can see on your left. Now I don’t know why I feel the need to throw every paper, book, box on the bookshelf when I have a big room and a walk in closet to throw stuff in. At the very top of my bookshelf next to that large thing with CDs in it is a fake Zen garden with sand and even a little Buddha head and a miniature rake, all of which can’t be seen in this picture. Anyways, that Zen garden feel was what I was going for with this bookshelf. Nothing special, just peaceful. Sorry for the picture(s) I’m not a photographer, I more so take pictures
like your grandma…if she can keep the damn camera steady (I couldn’t most of the time though). By the way, that picture does not represent how my whole room and house looks. I do not live in a hovel!
So, I began with removing the boxes, and throwing away all those papers. Most of those papers were an accumulation of two semesters worth of
work. While cleaning I decided to keep a few of the papers. I kept my old Organic Chemistry 2 and Calculus exams. I’m taking Calculus 2 next semester and eventually Analytical Chemistry. The material builds off the previous course so I figured I better keep it…I will not be forced to look up how to analyze an IR and NMR spectra
again. The memories were fond and quite lovely. Like that time I kept doing poorly in Calculus, even to the point where the teacher recommended I drop the class and start aaaall over. I wasn’t having that, cause, I never fail. So, I studied hard for the final exam and passed. I started out getting a “C” on exams, then that quickly dropped to a “D” and then I kept getting “D” on the exams.
My other fond memories were drawing while in class. I have a short attention span, which is probably why I don’t read a lot of book, if any! In class, I hate staring at the teacher yapping away like my life is centered around what they say, so, I don’t stare at the teacher. Not for all teacher, but the ones that talk too much lol. I have provided
picture of my boredom drawings from one of my notebooks I found from a couple semesters ago. I surprisingly didn’t draw a lot in my notebooks this semester. Anyways, heres some of my works of art! Beware as they are a bite blurry. These are drawing that just come to my mind when I’m bored. Usually, birds, dinosaurs, people, vines, flowers, earth… I’m not going to attempt to interpret most of these as I can just say that I was bored and they have no meaning. I had others I’d show but they were drawn too lightly for the camera to really get a good picture.
Anyways, back to my bookshelf. I cleaned all the papers off and threw them in a bag. I then put actual books on the shelf. First sorted by what size books fit on what shelf. The top shelf only fits the small books. After that I then organized alphabetically. That’s another one of my weird things is that I love alphabetizing when I organize. Below is my bookshelf!! Now don’t be fooled into thinking I read most of these. Most of the books were textbooks or novels for classes. I actually thought about suing my African History teacher because I didn’t
read any of the books he recommended I buy. He said they were required yet, he didn’t require us to use them…money wasted, especially since I won’t read those books. Also it should be noted that 4 books are just game guides for; GTA Vice City and San Andreas, Final Fantasy 12 and Sim City 300 Unlimited. I don’t even play
those games anymore. Also on the top shelf are old video games I really don’t play anymore. The bottom shelf I dedicated to my turtles. Just a place to put their food, and extra tank accessories. Other books I have read on the shelf are like old science books, kind of like novelties. One is an old scientific encyclopedia, theres a book profiling various scientist from the past, and theres reference books on different organisms. So, that’s it, I got bored, decided to clean my bookshelf and thought I’d take some pictures and bore you to death with this post! Thanks for reading people(s) and Happy Mothers Day mother(s).

Apparently I also need to dust the bookshelf, but I don’t feel like it. Maybe next week lol.

Man, what a hovel! Are the “before” photos deliberately blurry to increase the shame of having such a messy bookshelf?
I also make “boredom drawings”, but yours are more elaborate. I just draw geometric shapes and random lines. You should use your camera’s macro mode (yes, it has one!) so close-up shots don’t look blurry.
In my last year of high school, I sold all my 11th grade books for a good price, to just one person. Unfortunately, I was forced to spend most of the money on two calculus books that were never used. Argh!
By the way, there are cobwebs on one side of the shelf!
LMAO…no, I seriously could not keep the camera still, so not blurry on purpose. LMAO (again) That’s accumulation of dust (I prefer not to use the term cobwebs) I only go to that corner to throw books and papers over there. Hey, I said I’d clean that next week…I have the whole summer!
You are so mean, are you bored today?! (not a real question as I know the answer is yes)
And I just found out what that little flower symbol on the camera means…macro! I need to read the guide book more often. Anyways, thanks for your lovely comments as they always appreciated
I hope they really are, because I always print your comments (on my blog) and pass them on to all my friends and family! They say some funny things about them …
Anyway … yes, I am bored! Oh, wait, you answered already. But, yes! It’ll be four-day weekends until early August!
LOL, you are such a geek if you really do that. Well, you were Geek-a-torian. Though if you do, I’m…*hoping* they laugh at your expense … thinking about it, I have a feeling that’s not the case lol
At first, i didn’t understand the relation between Mother’s day and your room. Then i realised that probably your mother told you “Pleaseeeeee just for once a year organize your room and things for me, that’s the only gift i can demand”, is it right??
)
Noooooo…….she wants me to do that more than once a year lol. I was just saying Happy Mother’s Day because it was Mother’s Day!
